"The Golden Path"

Lives Transformed by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce that Anie Nunnally's book THE GOLDEN PATH, has just arrived from the Ashram press in Pondicherry and is now available for sale at the East West Cultural Center. This little gem of a book is certain to be viewed as a treasure by all involved in the yoga of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

The book consists of 264 pages with 48 photos. It contains interviews with disciples from the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville, many of whom had darshan of both Mother and Sri Aurobindo or were closely connected to the Mother.

Anie, herself, spent almost 4 years in the ashram and Auroville between 1968 and 1972 and developed close friendships with her subjects. In these interviews Anie has sought to capture the golden thread of the yoga - the growing psychic flame of the inner lives of those who lived in the proximity of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and how they have been transformed by that experience.

The book also includes a foreword by Debashish Banerji, a commentary by the Author, poetry written by some of the interview subjects, passages from Savitri and quotations from Mother and Sri Aurobindo.

Also please find below a commentary on the book by Belgian writer, Georges van Vrekhem as well as shipping/handling information.

Commentary on the book by Georges Van Verkhem:

Sri Aurobindo left his body in 1950 and the Mother in 1973. The number of people who had direct contact with them becomes ever smaller and the reports of such contacts soon become a thing of the past. Every person is different, which made every contact different, possibly revealing an unknown aspect of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

This makes Anie Nunnally's effort to gather the testimonies which can still be gathered all the more precious. She is closely acquainted with the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and with many of its members personally. For her doors were opened which otherwise would have remained closed, as most sadhaks are, understandably, reluctant to talk about their most intimate experiences. Moreover, as Anie Nunnally has herself walked on the path of the Integral Yoga for many years now, she knows how to appreciate its difficulties and its realizations. One wishes that the effort she has made, in order to gather these reminiscences, would be followed by others where the occasion still presents itself. From my personal experience as a biographer of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, I know how valuable this kind of work is.
