SCIY Readership & Total Page Views increase to new highs in Jan.'07

In January 2007, SCIY's readership rose to a new high of 14,365 individuals, a 16% increase from December '06. Those readers viewed SCIY's pages a total of 81,769 times, a 40% increase from Dec. '06 and also a new record.

SCIY's readers have now accessed SCIY a total of 449,745 times from September 2005 through February 2007.

1) Jan07 Distinct Hosts Served (Distinct Readers)
• 14,365 - an increase of 16% compared to Dec.06's 12,415 distinct visitors.
• This is a year-to-year increase of 5143% compared to Jan.06's 274 distinct visitors.

2) Jan07 Total Page Views (Hits)

• 81,769 - a 40% increase compared to Dec.06's 58,319 page views.
• This is a year-to-year increase of 6209% compared to Jan.06's 1,296 page views.

3) Jan07 Total Bytes Transferred (MB per month)

• 4,648 - an increase of 31% compared to Dec.06's 3,536 total bytes transferred.
• This is a year-to-year increase of 5520% compared to Jan.06's 83 total bytes transferred.

• Distinct hosts served

This is a count of the individual computers that accessed at least one page of your blog during that day and month.

 

By "distinct", we mean that if the same computer accesses your blog more than once, it will still count as only one host.

 

Note that while you can use this number to estimate the number of readers you had on a particular day or month, it counts computers, not people. A computer that gets used by several people who all read your blog still counts as just one distinct host.


• Bytes transferred


Whenever someone views a page on your blog, information is transferred from the system's servers to their computer. This statistic is a measure of the amount of transferred information for that day and month.

 

To give you a sense of perspective, both Tolstoy's novel 'War and Peace' and a typical medium-to-high quality picture taken on a 3-megapixel camera at 2016-by-1512 resolution are each said to represent 1 million bytes (or 1 megabyte) of data.

This is the number of pages from your blog viewed during that [day and] month.
