Law Suits, Sraddhalu and the Fraternity of Conspiracy Theorists

Originally posted on sciy.org by Rich Carlson on Mon 18 May 2009 09:42 PM PDT

Sraddhalu in his last letter claims he was in no way involved in the court case brought against Peter. The following correspondence from the attorney who is helping to advance the WRIT to court seems to contradict this claim as he clearly states in a letter sent to the SAICE list that he is awaiting instructions from Sraddhalu.

The proof appears in the second last of the SAICE letters below. Anirban Tripathy is assisting Gitanjali B's to file the cases against Peter in the Orissa courts. He had made an appearance on the SAICE list in the early stages of the whole thing, when the signature campaign etc. was going on. But here are some of the posts he made there before being thrown out. Note the warped right wing allegations of conspiracy theory in which the Vetican (sic) is even involved (sans da Vinci code of course;)

Excerpt of SRADDHALU'S OPEN LETTER Dt: 1-5-2009

Court cases: Neither Alok nor I have the competence or the resources to handle court

cases. Contrary to IYF’s claims, neither of us is responsible for them, and neither do we

have a say in their withdrawal. The IYF campaign to slander us as “initiators” of court

cases is another attempt to misdirect attention from Heehs’ multiple crimes of academic

fraud, impersonation, copyright and IPR violations.

But if Heehs has broken international laws, should he not face the consequences of his

actions? And, even if not now, the consequences will eventually catch up with him one

way or another. Or are we to consider Heehs to be somehow above the law? On the other

hand, if he has not committed any crimes at all (as IYF claims) then what does he have to

fear, and why is IYF suddenly so desperate to have the cases withdrawn? Why not instead

factually validate himself and prove that he has done no wrong – in academia as well as in

court.

Excerpt of SRADDHALU AND ALOK'S CLARIFICATION Dt :10-5-2009

h) Devotees cannot be faulted for filing criminal cases as an expression of extreme

anguish when all other options have failed – this is an accepted, normal and civil

way of dispute resolution. Peter Heehs owes it to himself, more than anybody else,

to respond to Court Summons, defend himself, and come clean of the charges

levelled against him.

i) Lastly, the book in question was proscribed in India not by the issuance of a

“Fatwa” by Alok Pandey or Sraddhalu Ranade, but by the Government of the day

after due process of law had taken its course. It is incumbent on Peter Heehs to

make an attempt to understand the causes of this serious Government action, and

all ridiculing of courts and Government agencies involved must be avoided

Re: [SAICE] short-term immediate remedy

dear shyam,

boycoting ph will hardly solve the problem.

his book was published and was in circulation abroad i believe since june and has seeped into india now... so many people must have read it...

try and look at the larger picture....

there is a design a plan to demolish every thing that india(hindus) is proud of... and i believe

ph is a part of this conspiracy.... something radical should be done but i cant spell it out in an open forum....

in shastras it is said that lathi is the right aushadham for a murkha...

Re: [SAICE] short-term immediate remedy

yes the grand design involves the vetican...

whether we like it or not sri aurobindo was a rightist leader and a firm pillar of hinduism like swami vivekananda and dayananda sarswati.... and demolishing these pillars is important for the vetican if christianity is to survive and see the light of the next century because in europe christianity has become almost extinct as people have stopped going to churches and churches have been put up for auction. vetican sees the only chance for the survival of christianity is if can be effectively propagated in india and china as these countries account for 33% of the world population, but china being china gave a hard kick to the pope and did not allow him entry into china, and india being a so-called secular country the pope under the leadership of sonia gandhi was accorded a red carpet welcome and hence conversion in india has been rampant for which hindu leaders are targetted physicaly and those who can not be targeted physicaly their character assasination is taking place.

sri aurobindo can not be logicaly/rationaly countered by the christian mind hence people like PH have been planted to do the job and its unfortunate that the ashram appointed him such a key place without verifying (or may be sufficiently verifying ) his background.

i am in touch with shradhalu and he is sending my some materials and soon i shall be drafting a writ petition i have been trying to get a copy of the impugned book so that i can raise objections and seek a direction from the court that the book be banned and that suitable action be taken against p h.

Re: [SAICE] What next?

dear friends,

its indeed heartening that action by the management no matter how late has been initiated against the impugned author, but yes as kim says we have to be more vigilant in the future and we should also make a representation to the management that vital departments like the archives are not thrown open to people like P.H withut proper and elaborate verification of their past credentials.

i am still awaiting to hear from shradhalu.
