Dear Will,

Thank you for sharing this exclusive and interesting piece of history. I just watched a pbs program 2 days ago and was amazed at the breadth, depth and sincerity of Dr V's operation.

cheers,

Venkat

Dear Venkat,

That's a wonderful write-up. I saw Dr. V. for the first time at a talk he gave at Harvard Divinity School about 10 or 15 years ago. He had been coming to Harvard's Medical School for several years to give presentations on opthamology [?], and finally someone realized that he had something to say to the D-school as well! Then, in the mid-90's he came to an AUM conference in the Catskills. He was accompanied by none
other than Ram Dass, who had met Dr. V. through Lion's Club
International's service program, and was coming along to be his 'man-servant' and companion.

It was such an honor to meet Dr. V. He has such a sweet presence and self-effacing manner. When he speaks of his work, it is Mother's work he refers to, and assures one and all that it couldn't have been done by himself alone, but only through Her guidance and shakti. And he insists that this be included in the training for all the staff, and that at the heart of his hospital and any clinics he sets up there be a room set up dedicated to Mother and Sri Aurobindo, for the staff to retire to for inspiration and renewal.

 much love,

-will
