ethno-sectarian competition (David Patraeus: newspeak on Capitol Hill)

In one of the most cynical moments of recent political history General David Patraeus, the current CEO of the occupation of Iraq,in his recent testimony before the US Congress referred to the civil war in Iraq as ethno-sectarian competition. Below is a chart which lists the documented civilian deaths in Iraq. ( there are many more undocumented deaths and combatant deaths according to John Hopkins University estimates up to 655,000 people Iraqis killed) Additionally there are approximately two million more refugees today due to the lust for oil & and prime real estate in the Middle East. While Patraeus was quick to blame Iran for the Iraqi troubles, a new book on Ahmed Chalabi the "so called Iraqi opposition leader" who advised Bush & the neo-cons to start a war with Iraq shows that he was a pawn of the Iranian secret service!

Anyway here is a chart of the documented civilian death

deaths each week from 2003 - 2007

deaths from car bombs

deaths from gun fire and execution

And of course many of these deaths were cause by US troops but a majority has been called by the extreme sectarian violence and/or civil way which Patraeus in his cynical newspeak calls: ethno-sectarian  competition!!!
